The World Cancer Day is the single initiative under which the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), its members, partners and the entire world unite together in the fight against the global cancer epidemic. Under the tagline ‘We can, I can’, World Cancer Day 2016 took a positive and proactive approach in the fight against cancer, highlighting that solutions do exist across the continuum of cancer, and that they are within our reach.

In celebration of the World Cancer Day, Sebeccly Cancer Care collaborated with 6 leading cancer non profits united to increase their impact under the # Collabo4Cancer. The objective was objective is to promote and unite collaborative efforts towards the creation of awareness, education and advocacy of Cancer. The 7 participating NGO’s were CEAFON, Sebeccly Cancer Care, Cancer Aid, St. Cyril Cancer Treatment Foundation, Breast Without Spots, Cancer Aware Nigeria and The Dorcas Foundation.

The walk ended at the Leisure mall, Surulere. Other members of staff and volunteers were also at the Palms Centre, Lekki to celebrate and raise awareness.

As part of the celebration of the World Cancer Day, Sebeccly paid a courtesy visit to the Wife of the Governor of Lagos State Mrs. Bolanle Ambode at the Government House Alausa, Ikeja. The wife of the Governor presented a cheque to support a survivor, signed our Pink Wall, Cancer Appeal petition book and was presented with the #12kLLP frame.
