MA Style: The Jewelery Talk

Choosing jewelry can be sometimes a hard work for women. Oftentimes an intended few minutes at the jewelry store can become an hour or more. I think this is because jewelry can make a loud statement about your style. Jewelry is not only an intrinsic part of a woman’s attire; it’s also a reflection of her personality.

Jewelry comes in different styles, patterns, and forms for different occasions. Jewelry plays an important role while dressing up because they can make an outfit look great. They can either enhance or compliment an outfit.

Everyone loves to wear jewelry; the type of jewelry and even the amount of it would vary from one’s societal stature and even differ among cultures. Luckily today, we have a wide range of styles to choose from. From cheap costume jewelry to expensive diamonds and gold, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings are made in every conceivable shape size and form.

To completely kill that look you need to first understand the occasion you are dressing up for. Your jewelry should be appropriate for where you are going.

When attending a marriage ceremony, your jewelry should perfectly compliment your attire. Your jewelry is permitted to be on the heavy side provided it bestows on to you that royal and ethnic look.

If your outfit is African traditional, heavy jewelry should do the magic.

Going to a formal or official meeting? It is best you wear simple accessories like a single delicate chain and complimenting tiny earrings. The best suited is a pair of pearl earrings and a pearl pendant.

For evening events, delicate diamond, crystal or gemstone set, compliments your dress perfectly will do just fine.

You should be seen going for a night party wearing bright sparkling jewelry.

The next step you need to consider is to choose jewelry that accentuates your look. To do this, understand your facial shape and neckline. A necklace should complement the neckline of your clothing. Your earrings should highlight your facial advantage and so on.

If you have a round face, try as much as you can to stay away from round /button earrings.   Instead, go for a vertical/dangling earring that will not emphasize the fullness of your face.

Avoid necklace styles like chokers and anything that goes up the neck. Longer necklaces seem to add length to the face.

All jewelry types except long shoulder-grazing earrings best suit a person with the oval face.

For the heart-shaped face, you are thinner by the chin and earrings that can widen out your chin such as triangular shapes or horizontal lines of hoops, teardrops, curves, and other dangling, space-filling designs.

For the neck, chokers, collar and princes’s lengths, neck wires and short bib-style neckpieces are ideal necklaces are also advisable.

If your faces long or rectangular shaped try jewelry that softening your jaw and camouflages your facial length such as large stud earrings and wide chandeliers. Princess, matinee, opera and rope length neckpieces should make the neck adorable.

These are just suggestions for choosing pieces of jewelry. At the end of the day, wear pieces of jewelry that you like and that you feel confident wearing.
