Designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli took it back to Rome for the Valentino all 2015 Haute Couture collection presentation where they just opened a flagship store.
They delved from texture to texture, making use of velvet, sheer materials, soft lace and Alessandro Gaggio’s striking gold pendant necklaces to create gladiator mini dresses, floor length gowns with sheer and velvet capes, turtle neck coats.
Black, red and gold form the basis of the palette with touches of green, maroon and brown. The models’ pulled back wavy hair, natural makeup and clean skin contrast with the regal tire, statement gold accessories and gladiator sandals for a regal, ancient Grecian feel.
Zuhair Murad presented familiarly feminine, sparkly designs but with the promise of Christmas with lots of sparkle and shine, beading, velvet, fur, sheer chiffons, satin on seeking evening dresses, ball gowns, sleek bridal looks, flared shorter dresses, and body con jumpsuits.
The models looked elegant with hair worn simply but topped with tiaras. Hands in pockets also took off some the over the top feel with the nonchalant gesture.
